The Right Diagnosis Is The Key to Proper Treatment

We have probably all heard of stories where a friend or a friend’s friend has gotten some procedures done but the treatment hasn’t really helped. Then how do we ensure that the procedures are really the procedures that are absolutely necessary for a certain condition? Answer lies in practitioner’s ability to screen out an accurate diagnosis, and to what extend the injury/disease has developed into.

We had a patient few years ago who was diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation and has had disc surgery 10 years ago, but has been experiencing the same symptoms pre-surgery every since the surgery. He was recommended by a friend and flew from Miami to our clinic and got treated with acupuncture 3 times, he left Canada pain free with only some withdrawal symptoms from morphine. His condition was actually a condition that is very common in the general population, called middle gluteal nerve impingement, which can be treated fairly successfully with acupuncture.

Cases like this happen everywhere, I suggest that you always get a second opinion when it comes to health issues, especially conditions that require surgery. Most often, cases that do require surgery can be resolved conservatively using different means. At MJT, we are dedicated to give you the most evidence-based opinion while take each individual on a case by case approach in diagnosis. We look at individuals as unique, and diagnosis is very individual specific rather than the same in everybody.
